Successful surgery after broken finger - Six week break for Huck

Marco Huck went through successful surgery on his right hand in Berlin on Tuesday. After suffering a fracture in round four during his victorious title defense against Dmytro Kucher, the reigning IBO-Champion had two wires inserted into his hand to keep his broken bone in place.

The 32-year-old was operated on by Dr. Sakoman at the Avicena Klinik in Berlin, Germany. After 90 minutes Huck was able to leave the operation table with his hand placed in plaster. The world champion will now not be able to train for the next six weeks. The initial prognosis was three to four months.

Marco Huck: "I am really happy that I can get back to training sooner than expected. I want get back to the gym as quickly as possible. But for now I am going to go on vacation with me family."
