Marco Huck vs. Dmytro Kucher – The press conference

Just four weeks ahead of the anticipated IBO Cruiserweight World Championship between reigning champion Marco Huck and challenger Dmytro Kucher the two opponents met today for the first time in Hannover, Germany.  During the official press conference both showed respect for another and opted against any kind of trash talk.

Marco Huck: „The last time I fought in Hannover was June 3rd 2006 against an opponent from Switzerland. The crowd cheered me on and I won comfortably. Hence I was very excited to be fighting here again. I choose an extremely difficult opponent in Kucher. I am convinced that a knockout is guaranteed. We have two strong punchers facing each other. We will just start hitting one another. As long as I have prepared well I know I am the better out of the two of us."

Dmytro Kucher:  „I am preparing for the toughest fight of my career. This will be the first fight in Germany for me so I am excited. But it doesn't really matter to me if I'm fighting at home or abroad. I see this as a 50:50 fight. Everything is possible. Marco has a strong will, character and is tough. He has everything a champion needs."

The 32-year-old Ukrainian is known for his punching power and currently holds a record of 24 victories (18 KOs) out of 26 fights. During his last outing he crowned himself as the EBU Champion with a first round KO over Enzo Maccarinelli.

Promoter Kenan Hukić is hopeful that he will be able to fill the TUI Arena with a capacity of 7.000 even though its only four weeks to go. Once again RTL will broadcast the fight live. During Huck's last fight an average of 4.38 Million viewers tuned in to watch his victory over Ola Afolabi.
